ARABIAN STALLIONS: THE REAL MCCOY
The Real McCoy
The Real McCoy continued the important contributions made by Bint Sahara and her daughter Fersara on the Arabian breed. The Real McCoy was owned by prominent Arabian horse breeders, Frank and Helen McCoy. Their breeding program started with ideals, taking steps to improve these ideals without regard for trends or fads. The McCoy horses are know for their correct and balanced conformation.
Personally, I do not favor the current breeding fads in the Arabian horse world. I want a horse that looks solid, capable and with the conformation on display in the The Real McCoy continuing the look of the Bint Sahara bloodline. I eschew the modern Arabian horse with its "loch ness moster" looking neck, tiny head indiscriminately attached by a "dish" that is a reverse cambered ski jump to leap from the head to the horse's nose. Is this what they mean by "typey"?
I hope my breeding philosophy of combining the best characteristics of an Arabian horse with the best characteristics of a Quarter horse will allow me to be considered someday to be a pioneer myself.
Some of the champion horses who have descended through the Bint Sahara bloodline via The Real McCoy are: KHEMOSABI, FAME VF, ALI JAMAAL, AFIRE BEY V, ECHO MAGNIFFICO, GAI PARADA, DESERT HEAT VF, GAI MONARCH, PARYS EL JAMAAL, WN ULTIMATE STAR and GAI ANASTASHAH.
